10 Hyped Wrestling Rematches That Sucked

Why It Sucked: Pure match quality wasn't the priority when Roddy Piper and Hulk Hogan worked together at 'The War To Settle The Score' in 1985. Both were on top of the world as a new breed of WWF 'Superstar', and fans just couldn't wait to see them tear into one another. They could've played checkers in-ring that night and still came out shining.

12 years later, things were different.

Despite being older and slower, the iconic duo had nonetheless done their bit at Starrcade 1996. That match, whilst hardly a world beater, was worth doing. Another bout at SuperBrawl two months later, meanwhile, wasn't. WCW's own in-house follow-up was an unnecessary add-on that reeked from first bell to last.

It didn't help that Piper had looked like an idiot for accepting a non-title match at Starrcade... which he won. When the title was on the line at SuperBrawl, he lost. Worse, the title's importance was barely made clear to fans on TV beforehand.
