Date: 16 March 2000

Location: Fun Time USA, Long Island

Weapons Used: Arcade machine, plastic balls, trashcan, guardrail, Hardcore Championship, leather belt, strength test machine, mallet

The Headbangers without their trademark skirts, advisable considering Fun Time USA’s typical clientele, took the chase for Crash Holly’s Hardcore Championship to a children’s play centre.

Mosh and Thrasher, along with referee Earl Hebner, had an almost adequate plan to take the Hardcore Championship. Hebner and Thrasher stayed downstairs and out of view. Mosh attempted to lure Crash with “cool stuff downstairs”, inadvertently sounding like a sex offender leaning out of a van window. Uncertain of the ruse, Mosh strayed from the plan and attacked Crash alone. However, there wasn’t a referee to count the pin. In complete ‘Houdini of Hardcore’ mode, Crash escaped down a slide to the ground floor followed by the camera man and Mosh. Crash slid straight into a trashcan attack. However, Mosh would break Thrasher’s pin.

After Crash’s head subbed as the mallet for a strength test machine, another pin attempt was broken. The team fumbled a spot with the machine and mallet allowing Crash to flee into the play area. The Headbangers cornered the champion in a ball pit but let their guard down. Crash nailed Thrasher with a flying Clothesline into the pit, before using a mini-zip wire to hit a Hurricanrana on Mosh. With Crash’s swift escape, referee Earl Hebner was left to take the blame for the foiled plan.

Result: Crash Holly leaves as Hardcore Champion in one of his most iconic title defences. At least the fans had a fun time.
