10 Images Showcasing The Precise Moments When WWE Careers Ended

7. The Public Enemy Are Kicked (And Punched) Out Of The Company By The APA

The Public Enemy were a successful tag team and had good runs in both ECW and WCW in the mid-90s. They signed with WWE in February 1999 but lasted only two months before they were fired. A big reason why they got fired was because they disrespected people in the locker room, namely the duo of Bradshaw and Faarooq. Big mistake. Before a match between the teams on the March 7th, 1999 episode of Sunday Night Heat, Public Enemy told Ron and John that they didn't want to take a table bump and tried to change the finish of the match seconds before they were to go out there. That didn't sit well with WWE's resident locker room enforcers, so when they went out for the match the Acolytes absolutely destroyed them in what was more of demolition rather than a an actual competitive match. The Acolytes beat up Public Enemy shoot style using stiff chair shots, the stairs as weapons before putting them through tables (guess they didn't have a choice on taking that bump). That night was the beginning of the end for Public Enemy in WWE. It was a lesson for all newcomers to WWE that you had to do what you were told whether you liked it or not. Otherwise, you would pay the price for it. The Public Enemy were cocky and disrespectful and that's why their run ended before it really had the chance to begin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFLuGQrC48M
