10 Improvements UFC Has To Make

6. Stronger Penalties For Negative Fighting

You've all been there.

You're sat enjoying one of the most anticipated fight cards in history, when - out of nowhere - a negative game of human chess starts to unfold.

This isn't an attack on tactical/defensive styles of fighting, it's just that these mundane attitudes towards the sport often leave fans reaching for another Red Bull and UFC should never hold the potential to send you to sleep.

How to solve this problem?

Proposing a strong penalty or deducting money from a victor's purse if the fighter fails to KO or submit their rival - as that should be the ultimate aim, right?

It will feel fairly harsh on those athletes who simply cannot put away one another, but it will also inspire a few more risks and guarantee you a balls to the wall war - instead of fighters trying to cling on to a winning streak by going the distance.

Also, Fight of the Night honours aside, KO's and submission victories should be handsomely rewarded - even more so than now - to at least give fighters another incentive to go for the finish.
