10 Impulse Reactions Following WWE Elimination Chamber 2017

2. A Decent Proposal?

After weeks of speculation following the abandonment of a proposed Undertaker/John Cena match at WrestleMania, WWE laid things on thick at Elimination Chamber to direct The Miz and John Cena together via conflict between their better halves.

Following a Natalya/Nikki Bella skirmish backstage, Maryse was left covered in white powder and makeup, and her non-attendance alongside The Miz due to the assault was acknowledged by the announcers as the 'A-Lister' entered the Chamber.

With Nikki likely to tie up her feud with Natalya on television in the weeks to follow, she will be freed up to work alongside Cena, who will now be frozen out of the WWE Title picture at least until the conclusion of WrestleMania.

Mouthwatering to some will also be the blending of the Total Divas/WWE 'universes', as a possible marriage proposal from Cena to Bella may follow the duo's likely victory over the Mizanins at the 'Show of Shows'.

Despite this perfectly presentable midcard fare, it does ask the question why Cena was allowed to rather easily dispatch The Miz during the Elimination Chamber match itself, but that is likely to be brushed aside in the build up if the two are to even remotely appear equal.
