It's been a bumpy road for WWE's new Cruiserweight league, with the clunky transition between last summer's acclaimed CWC tournament and the rebooted division on Monday Night Raw hampering the progression of several talented lightweights.

Furthermore, 205 Live has become the most missable weekly episodic broadcast WWE produce, with few of the matches living up to the standards on display during the Cruiserweight Classic.

Alongside matches falling into the WWE trap of small guys working heavyweight style, some blame has fallen on individual talents for failing to get characters over that allow audiences to emotionally latch on to the high spots.

Neville and Jack Gallagher have been the constant exceptions, with the former's heel renaissance one of the best things in the entire company, and the latter a constant standout for his unique traits in the ring and on the microphone.

The two worked a frantic pace, building with gymnastic exhibitions before Neville upped the intensity with a devastating quickfire release german suplex and second rope Phoenix Splash.

Gallagher fought back with some brutal headbutts, forcing Neville to unleash a Red Arrow for a climactic victory.

Match of the night and one of the best of the year, here's hoping this finally marked a change in fortunes for the beleaguered division.
