2. Kevin Owens Books A Match On The 'Grandest Stage'

Or...a stage.

It was about time somebody actually used the Performance Center location for good rather than trying to upsell it as some mythical benefit, and it was rather fitting that Kevin Owens chose "3:16Day" to stun Seth Rollins with the challenge.

The messaging was a little muddled considering exactly how little time 'KO' spent in the PC during his relatively brief stint in NXT, but the story made enough sense in the hands of a tenured and trained pro such as the 'Prizefighter'. He drew from the kayfabe and IRL times Seth told him he wasn't fit for purpose in WWE, dating all the way back to the exchange the pair had after Survivor Series back in November.

Blimey, this programme has been going on a f*cking age. The two deserve credit for not totally over-exposing their work together since then, even if this eventual brawl hadn't particularly stuck out on the proper card before everything was demoted to the new Orlando date.

Owens definitely managed to heat it up in the moment, but it now falls to 'The Monday Night Messiah' next to keep things cooking.
