ECW One Night Stand 2006 is one of the most fondly remembered Pay-Per-Views of the 2010s, and was perhaps the last true ECW show (depending on who you ask). The main event saw Rob Van Dam using his Money in the Bank contract to challenge John Cena for the WWE Championship. That night, everything went perfectly. Van Dam was on top of his game, and John Cena got to play the bad guy against the rabid ECW crowd. RVD won the title, and would later be christened with the reinstated ECW Championship. Everything was going Van Damn's way. On July 3rd 2006, RVD, along with Sabu, was arrested for possession of marijuana after they were caught speeding in Hanging Rock, Ohio. As a result, Van Dam dropped the WWE Championship and ECW Championship on consecutive nights, to Edge and Big Show respectively. RVD was suspended but remained with WWE until 2007 when they parted ways amicably.
