…in fact, he’d lost pretty much everything he started with by the time 1992’s Survivor Series rolled around.

‘The Nature Boy’ had fallen to Bret Hart in an impulse move by Vince McMahon to drive the company forward on the shoulders of the ‘Hitman’ following his peerless professionalism in the SummerSlam main event. Fortunately, he was still due to headline the Thanksgiving pay-per-view anyway in a star-laden battle with Randy Savage and The Ultimate Warrior alongside Razor Ramon.

Yet again, backstage bodybuilders bodged a blockbuster.

Just weeks out from the show, the Ultimate Warrior and Davey Boy Smith were hurriedly pulled from the card amidst rumours of drug use, forcing changes bigger than their cartoon biceps.

Booked and shot in the one remaining edition of Prime Time Wrestling they could slot in before the event, Mr Perfect turned on Ric Flair via a communication breakdown with Bobby Heenan. Joining Savage, he shored up the massive tag team main event whilst Shawn Michaels battled World Champion Bret Hart fresh off ‘HBK’ liberating the Intercontinental Title from the departing British Bulldog.
