Seth Rollins did not have a good WrestleMania 40, but he did get plenty of time in the spotlight during the weekend. He probably just wishes it went a bit better for him.

Rollins had his first proper WrestleMania main event as part of the tag team match on night one alongside Cody Rhodes taking on The Rock and Roman Reigns. The duo were unsuccessful in preventing Bloodline Rules, but for Rollins, a multi-time world champion and main-event player for the past decade, it was the first time his name appeared on the marquee for a WrestleMania main event.

To be fair, Rollins did wrestle in the main event of Mania 31, cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase mid-match to win the world title from Brock Lesnar by pinning Reigns.

Rollins also joined rare company this weekend by becoming just the third wrestler to compete in both an opening and closing match at the same WrestleMania. The others: Bret Hart at 10 and Daniel Bryan at 30. Of course, they accomplished that feat in the era of one-night WrestleManias, while Rollins closed out Saturday and opened Sunday’s show.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
