9. R-Truth Finally Gets A Mania Win

At 52 years of age, R-Truth is a remarkable case study in longevity, a wrestler who debuted in WWE when The Rock, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Triple H were dominating the show each week. And yet, 24 years later, he is considered an active part of the roster rather than a legend who shows up periodically, like many of his peers.

Despite his lengthy run with the company – a brief stint in 2000-01 and back with WWE since 2008 – Truth had never won at WrestleMania. He lost a tag title match alongside John Morrison at Mania 26, was on the losing side of a 12-man Raw versus SmackDown tag match at 28, and failed to capture the Intercontinental Championship at 31 – among other smaller appearances.

That streak ended Saturday night when the Awesome Truth secured the Raw Tag Team Championship, marking Truth’s first Mania win and first proper title (not counting the 24/7 Championship) in five years.

Truth’s title reign might not last long – it’s possible it has ended before this article is even published – but it still goes down in the record books.
