10 Incredible Wrestlers Who STILL Don't Get The Praise They Deserve

9. Chad Gable

Thanks to several lacklustre years on WWE's topsy turvy main roster, Chad Gable doesn't seem all that ready, willing and Gable anymore.

A former Olympian, Gable picked up the art of professional wrestling at a prodigiously quick rate in NXT. His American Alpha tag team with Jason Jordan was a hit, as was his humorous promo style and explosive wrestling offence.

On the main roster, American Alpha was (quite literally) cut off at the knees. Gable has never escaped undercard purgatory in the years since. Despite his obvious talent, he has been saddled with several doomed gimmicks and angles. Worst of them all was Shorty G, where, due to not being 11 foot tall, Gable dressed up as a basketball player and took pride in the size-related insults Baron Corbin threw at him.

Shorty G bordered on Red Rooster levels of terrible (and, dare one say, character assassination) and Gable has never really recovered. His Alpha Academy team with Otis, though full of potential, has ultimately neutered both men's personalities.

As it stands, Chad Gable is one of the most underrated, unappreciated, poorly booked professional wrestlers in the world today. Rumours abound of him possibly leaving WWE soon. Hopefully he doesn't leave wrestling altogether as he has a lot to offer and could be a great fit in a variety of other promotions more likely to appreciate his skills.
