10 Incredible Wrestlers Who STILL Don't Get The Praise They Deserve
5. Roderick Strong
Is there anything Roderick Strong can't do?
Debuting in NXT as an everyman babyface, Strong quickly connected with audiences who supported him in droves against heel champ Bobby Roode. Strong was a down to earth, likeable figure for the black and yellow brand. His babyface charm made his heel turn and defection to the Undisputed Era all the more shocking.
As a heel, Strong displayed a pitch-perfect cocky swagger on the mic and in the ring. His acting chops were further highlighted by his turmoil over the faction's split when the already-heel Adam Cole turned double heel (?) on Kyle O'Reilly. Devastated by the faction's demise, Strong seemingly lost his mind before returning with his new Diamond Mine crew.
Absurdly powerful for his size, the aptly-named Strong is also a ring general. He is capable of leading and putting matches together and improvising where botches or unpredictable crowds dictate. Technically skilled with crowd-pleasing, explosive offence, Strong currently wears NXT cruiserweight gold and is yet to get a crack at the main roster.
While the likelihood of him toppling main event titans like Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns is painfully slim, Strong would be a natural fit in the US and Intercontinental title scenes. At 38, his athletic prime is nearing the end of its tether. The former ROH stalwart deserves a chance to ply his exceptional craft on RAW or SmackDown before he's past it and get the mainstream praise he deserves.
