10 Incredible WWE Attitude Era Moments Nobody Ever Talks About

8. Shane McMahon's Fall

Shane O'Mac is not the most talented pro-wrestler. But he's more than made up for this lacking by giving us some spectacular moments over the last 25 years.

At 2000's SummerSlam, McMahon was set to defend the WWF Hardcore Championship against 'The Lethal Weapon' Steve Blackman. As the match drew to a close, the cowardly McMahon attempted to escape by climbing 50 feet up the entrance structure. Blackman chased, whacked the champ across the back with a cane and sent Shane crashing down through the stage. Blackman followed with an elbow drop, and scored the win.

The image of McMahon falling was featured on WWE television repeatedly for the rest of that year, and a moment that no one could imagine he'd top.

Though it wouldn't be until the following WrestleMania that Shane O'Mac would return to the ring. Shortly after, during Backlash, he would repeat the SummerSlam "Leap of Faith" from a higher structure in a non-title Last Man Standing match against the Big Show. This time, he wasn't falling--Shane McMahon jumped!

But, whilst the SummerSlam fall was routinely repeated, barely any of the Backlash elbow drop was mentioned.

As a match-up, there was perhaps less at stake the second time and the storyline going in was... forgettable. Maybe Shane had oversaturated the audience with big moments like his Coast to Coast, his announce table elbow dives and his stunner selling that, frankly, one more spectacle was just too expected.

Whatever the cause, it appeared that McMahon couldn't top SummerSlam's fall after all.
