2. Jeff Hardy Vs. Rob Van Dam - Invasion 2001

Hey, it's that Rob Van Dam guy again. There were a lot of eyes on RVD at the Invasion PPV. He was coming in with a lot of hype and his Hardcore Championship match against Jeff Hardy had been promoted heavily on WWF TV. Van Dam wasn't short on confidence (that's an understatement) but even he must have felt that there were high expectations. Luckily for Van Dam, he and Jeff Hardy instantly clicked and had great chemistry with each other. They built it up slowly with some wrestling and move trading before spilling into the crowd where Van Dam began backflipping off of everything in sight. Then the ladders came out. Jeff took his customary fall off the extra-large ladder after nailing Van Dam with an evil sunset flip powerbomb to the floor. The highlight of the match was Van Dam sending Jeff Hardy into the gap in the stage with a wicked Van Daminator.

Jeff and Rob would have many more matches with each other over the years in WWE and TNA but this remains their best and one of the best Hardcore Championship matches ever.
