10 Incredible WWE Hardcore Title Matches You Need To See

3. Shane McMahon Vs. Steve Blackman - SummerSlam 2000

Shane McMahon proved to be a surprisingly good worker, for a non-wrestler. Between 1999 and 2003 he managed to have entertaining matches with X-Pac, Test, The Big Show, his Dad, Kane and Kurt Angle. Shane also managed to have a great match with 'Mr. Charisma' Steve Blackman at SummerSlam in 2000. Shane won the Hardcore Title from Blackman thanks to the help of T&A, E&C and a kendo stick and Blackman was out for revenge. Blackman spent the first half of the match beating the hell out of baby McMahon with trashcans, sticks and a leather strap only for T&A to interfere and take over. Blackman though, being hard-as-nails (he is apparently one of the most legitimately tough WWE guys of all time), fought them off and Shane, not wanting to be kicked in the head anymore, began scaling the arena set to escape. Blackman followed and what came next was one of the most outrageous stunts in WWE history. Shane was known for throwing caution to the wind and doing high-risk moves and stunts but his backwards drop off the top of the SummerSlam set topped them all. He must have been 40ft up when Blackman sent him crashing down (not 75ft as Jim Ross had claimed). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShdCN-OUUrU
