10 Incredibly-Short Turnarounds Between UFC Fights
1. Khamzat Chimaev (10 Days)
Remember how the last entry bordered on superhuman? Well, this one may actually *be* superhuman.
Khamzat 'Borz' Chimaev, the inspiration for this list, is a perfect 9-0 as of this writing, and given the way his first three fights in the UFC have gone, he appears to be on the rise to superstardom. His first fight for the promotion saw him earn a Performance of the Night Bonus by defeating John Phillips with a D'Arce Choke early into Round 2 of their middleweight bout on 15 July of this year. His next fight would take place at Welterweight just 10 days later on 25 July against Rhys McKee.
So, not only did Chimaev compete in two fights in 10 days, but he lost 15 pounds within those 10 days in order to do it. And if that wasn't bats**t crazy enough, Chimaev would win the second fight via first-round TKO, earning yet another Performance of the Night Bonus in the process.
Oh, and Chimaev also accepted a third fight less than two months after beating McKee, knocking out Gerald Meerschaert in just 17 seconds at UFC Fight Night on 19 September and earning a third Performance of the Night Bonus for his efforts.
So, let's review: three fights in 66 days, all of which were wins via stoppage, all of which earned Performance of the Night Bonuses, and he did it across two weight classes. Absolutely. F***ing. Insane.
