10 Independent Stars WWE Should Sign To NXT

4. Michael Bennett

Mike Bennett Maria This guy has it. The look, the charisma and the gorgeous Playboy Playmate wife who has been to the apex of the business. Michael Bennett continues to improve his overall game in a variety of ways. When he first made his debut on the Ring of Honor roster, fans automatically gave him heat with chants of "you can't wrestle." This was perfect motivation to play the crowd with his "The Prodigy" gimmick. He truly was a prodigy in the wrestling business and fans naturally hated him for it. He has everything that the fans want and he's been able to use that to his advantage. He had a tremendous series of matches with Lance Storm that helped elevate him into the upper echelon of the roster in ROH. Over the past year, he has ditched "The Prodigy" gimmick and with Maria at his side, he was positioned to wrestle the likes of Kevin Steen, Hiroshi Tanahashi & Jushin "Thunder" Liger. He was also able to defeat Jerry Lynn in Lynn's final Ring of Honor match. It's obvious that ROH management has high hopes for the future of Bennett. Rumors circulated over the past couple of years that Bennett has been on the radar of WWE. We can only hope that politics and other extenuating circumstances don't come into play when it comes to the future of Michael Bennett. His contributions to the wrestling business can continue to go in an upward direction if given a chance in WWE through NXT.
