10 Indie Stars Who Were Supposed To Be The Next Big Thing

6. Jody Fleisch

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_QtIyTTJCk Before Neville, Jody Fleisch was considered the premier British high-flyer. He was a big deal in the late 1990s and early 2000s, with him and favourite opponent Johnny Storm being flown the world over to wrestle one another. The duo had a particularly memorable match in CZW in 2002, which brought them to the attention of the American audience. Unfortunately, their match the next night for Ring of Honor wasn't as good. But ROH officials were impressed with 'The Phoenix' and began booking him regularly. He also made trips to Zero-One in Japan, while still working regularly in the UK. Anyone who saw him was blown away by his 720 DDT and springboard Shooting Star Press. Fleisch had a couple of tryouts with WWE but was never signed. He's still semi-active on the independent scene but age and injuries have slowed him down.
