It seems like WWE and AJ Styles have been linked to one another for years. For a long time, one of the hottest talking points in wrestling has been the idea of the former TNA star signing with the company. Styles is closely associated with TNA, because he worked in the promotion right from the beginning. As far back as 2002, AJ was the face of the X Division. Much like Magnus, Styles eventually grew frustrated over what was happening in TNA. This led him to depart the organisation and take his skills to Japan. With New Japan Pro Wrestling, he has reignited his in-ring career. Towards the end of his TNA run, some fans criticised his performances. There can be no such complaints during AJ's work in the Orient, or indeed his return to Ring of Honor. In WWE, the 28-year old would sit neatly alongside someone like Samoa Joe as a veteran. At this point, neither man is realistically going to be in featured positions on main roster shows, but they do still have an important part to play. If WWE are serious about NXT becoming a viable, full-time touring commodity, someone like AJ Styles would be a sublime choice to help out.
