Vinnie Mac is the most controversial Royal Rumble winner in history. Period. Even though Mr. McMahon was active in the match for a colossal 56:38, his actual time in the ring was just over a mere five minutes. Forced into opening the '99 Rumble with Stone Cold Steve Austin, the owner was battered from pillar to post. Golga entered at number three which provided McMahon with the opportunity to flee. He led Austin through the crowd and into a public toilet where The Corporation beat Austin. The Rattlesnake was sent to the hospital and McMahon took refuge at the commentary desk, still unofficially part of the Rumble match. Austin returned driving the ambulance that took him away and re-entered the match, ultimately finding himself as the last man standing and seemingly the winner. He went after McMahon yet again and viciously tore him apart. Meanwhile, The Rock came out to distract Austin with the WWF Championship which enabled McMahon to sneak up on Austin and eliminate him.
