10 Insane Inspirations Behind Famous Wrestling Gimmicks

7. 3 Count Were Inspired By *NSYNC & The Backstreet Boys

The first stable gimmick on this list is 3 Count. They were a three-man stable in World Championship Wrestling and they formed back in 1999. The group consisted of Shane Helms (who would go on to become "The Hurricane", of course), Shannon Moore and Evan Karagias and they used a boy band gimmick, having taken direct influence from *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys - both of whom were extremely popular at the time. The gimmick both capitalised on and poked fun at the boy band scene, which was at its peak in the late 1990s, and the trio would sing songs and perform dance routines in a manner not dissimilar to those performed by the likes of Justin Timberlake and Nick Carter back then.
