7. Super Insert-Name-Here

This is a term that you've only started seeing in recent years, but it is becoming more and more popular as the months go by. It's the same thing each time... whenever a face is booked to look dominant in any way, shape, or form, wrestling fans begin to refer to him by throwing the word "Super" before his name. Super Cena, Super Sheamus, Super Orton, Super Bryan, Super Roman, and so forth are all good examples of this fad. In some instances (Cena), it makes more sense than others, but people have begun to use it whenever a face wins a few matches in a row, as if heels are supposed to win 100% of the time. The point of pro wrestling, at its very core, is for "good" to overcome "evil". The large majority of wrestling fans pay to see that, whether it be through ticket purchases, ordering events, or through buying merchandise to support their favorite wrestlers. Face wrestlers have always looked good in professional wrestling. Even when you look at notorious heels like Ric Flair, he made a fortune off of getting beaten up by faces, night in and night out, only to win through some sort of nefarious means. Bruno Sammartino held the WWWF World Title for 2,803 consecutive days from 1963 to 1971. Bob Backlund held the same title for 2,135 consecutive days from 1978 to 1983. If you go back and look through the history of the WWWF/WWF/WWE Title, the longest reigns are almost exclusively held by face wrestlers. If you took the combined number of days that John Cena, Randy Orton, Triple H, The Rock, Steve Austin, and Bret Hart all held the WWF/WWE Title, you'd still be about 100 days short of the total that Bruno Sammartino held it. Bruno had the title twice, while the others had it a combined 47 times. Of course, the Attitude Era and current day wrestling scenes feature more title changes, but where's the outrage over "Super Bruno"? The company has always been focused on a single face that has looked dominant. That goes back long before Vince Jr. took the reigns. It actually traces back to Vince's grandfather, Jess, and Toots Mondt running the Capitol Wrestling Corporation in the early 1950's. A little over a decade later, the World Wide Wrestling Federation was created, and they ran with the "dominant face fights off all heel comers" style of booking. If you like to see heel wrestlers win a lot, that's perfectly fine. There's nothing wrong with that. The nWo won all the time, and they were one of the hottest acts in the history of the business. CM Punk's recent lengthy reign as WWE Champion was one of the hottest stories in recent memory, and he kept winning match after match, defending his title on a regular basis. Just try not to pretend that face wrestlers winning is such a terrible thing, or even something that hasn't been going on since damn near the sport's origins.
