10 Insights Into Brock Lesnar's New WWE Deal

The Beast is delighted with his new WWE contract.

Brock Lesnar has signed a new WWE deal. He'll continue his career as a pro wrestler and won't be returning to MMA with the UFC. The news of Lesnar's signing came on Tuesday night, with SportsCenter's Michelle Beadle getting the exclusive sit down interview with Brock. Lesnar appeared emotional in the interview. There was a sense of regret that he couldn't continue in MMA, but there was also a sense of satisfaction in the way he put over his WWE contract. It sounds like he got exactly what he wanted from Vince McMahon. It won't be exactly like the deals that he has had in the past. He first signed for WWE in 2000, and was promoted to the main roster with a million dollars a year contract in 2002. However, he left in early 2004, burned out by the travel aspect of the business. That's something he still hates, hence the reason he only operates as a part timer. He increased his value significantly in his time away from WWE, taking up MMA and becoming the biggest pay per view draw in UFC history. When he eventually returned to pro wrestling in 2012, he was then able to negotiate a five million dollars a year contract for just a few bookings a year. Once again, he's negotiated a very impressive deal. As he said himself during the SportsCenter interview, "I'm happy." In the immediacy of Lesnar signing, there's already been heated discussion on the insights of the new deal. His unique status is sure to divide opinion in both the WWE locker room and wider wrestling community.
