One thing that this new contract opens up is the potential for WWE to book Lesnar as Champion beyond WrestleMania 31. The Roman Reigns experiment hasn't worked and there's really no need to switch the belt now that Lesnar is staying. It is even possible that Lesnar wanted it in his contract that he'd continue to be WWE Champion until the summer. Creative control to some extent is probably factored into his deal. From WWE's point of view, they wanted the deal done before Mania. That seems to hint at the idea that they were indeed basing Mania booking decisions based upon Brock staying or not staying. There's a very good chance he'll be continuing as WWE Champion beyond Mania.
