The opening match on the show pitted Austin Aries against No Way Jose, putting an end to the feud that began when Aries turned heel on Jose. The crowd was into both men, though Aries was the favorite, and they ended up delivering a hot opener that was Jose's best match to date.

Aries managed to catch Jose in the Last Chancery early on, but Jose escaped. The NXT newcomer also avoided a brainbuster, but he wasn't able to finish Aries off with his Cobra Clutch Slam. In the end, "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived" locked in the Last Chancery one more time and got the submission.

Aries reapplied the Last Chancery after the bout, but he was interrupted by Hideo Itami's music. The former NOAH star, dressed in a suit, came out to the ring and took off his jacket. Aries tried to attack him as he entered, but Itami got the upper hand and sent A-Double running with some stiff shots.

This might have worked better if it were Itami's actual return to TV, but it still set up a match that's going to be amazing.
