Ironically enough, Brock Lesnars most significant Madison Square Garden moment does not involve him competing in the ring. In fact, it was his departure from the arena that would make waves in WWE. On August 26, 2002, Brock was one day removed from being crowned the new WWE Undisputed World Champion by defeating the Rock at SummerSlam. On Raw that night at MSG, General Manager Eric Bischoff had a number one contenders match between Triple H and Undertaker. That bout ended with Triple H winning after Lesnar interfered and hit Taker with the belt. But what happened next shook things up in WWE. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBb4VsiRL2c Brock left the Garden with Smackdown General Manager Stephanie McMahon, becoming exclusive property of the blue brand, and leaving Raw without a world champion. This would lead to Bischoff resurrecting the old WCW Big Gold Belt, which became known as World Heavyweight Championship and presented WWEs second world championship to Triple H. That incident is well-known and one of the more controversial moments in WWE bestowing a world championship on Triple H but it got its start thanks to Lesnar at Madison Square Garden.
