10 Interesting WWE Facts About Brock Lesnar In Madison Square Garden
7. Three-For-One
Fans who attended the February 1st, 2003 Raw house show at Madison Square Garden were treated to not one, not two, but three matches involving the Next Big Thing. On that night, Lesnar squared off with all three members of Team Angle, defeating all three men. Brock was just two weeks removed from winning the 2003 Royal Rumble, thus earning a title match against the WWE Champion at WrestleMania XIX. Despite having that title match looming, he would get his hands on his future opponent, Kurt Angle, that night. But first, Lesnar had to defeat Angles running buddies, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas. Lesnar would beat both members of the Worlds Greatest Tag Team in singles bouts before facing Angle. He would win that match by DQ when Benjamin and Haas interfered, but Brock would have the last laugh when he won the title at Mania two months later.
