10 John Cena Matches We Still Need To See

4. Vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi

Sticking with New Japan Pro Wrestling, the list of men from that company that I'd love to see fight Cena is long to say the least. Tomohiro Ishii, Katsuyori Shibata, Okada, Kojima, heck, I'd love to even see John Cena vs. Cody Hall. There is only really one dream match when it comes to John Cena vs. NJPW however, and we all know it is Cena vs. Tanahashi.

To those who are slowly getting in to New Japan Pro Wrestling, Tanahashi is often described as NJPW's John Cena. This brings negative connotations, but for those crying LOL CENA WINS New Japan fans coudl easily have said LOL TANA WINS for a while.

Tanahashi has headlined the last six Wrestle Kingdom shows, and he carried NJPW on his back during the darker days of the company. He also comes with incredible big match pedigree, and a bout between the two would come with the sort of cross-promotional hype not seen since Ric Flair jumped to the WWF in 1991.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
