There were so many things wrong the Summer of Punk storyline. Despite starting off with one of the best promos in RAW history and ending with CM Punk's then-historic 434 day title reign, there were so many bumps and detours in the road, it was hardly a "good" story arc.

The issues began as soon as Punk left with the WWE title after Money in the Bank. Naturally, since Cena was unable to keep the belt in the company, he was "fired." In the meantime, a new champion had to be crowned. So, they threw together a quickie tournament, and on RAW eight days after the PPV, Rey Mysterio defeated The Miz and won the WWE Championship for the first time.

So what happened that same night? Well, as it turns out, Cena wasn't fired after all! You're shocked, I can tell! Anyway, Cena was back in the company, and since he was the Big Dog, and this was his yard, he got an undeserved title shot that very night against Rey! Ooooooohaaaaaaa!

Okay, that comparison's a little unfair. As bad as his booking is... there is no way Roman Reigns would win a title in such an egregious fashion.

Cena couldn't even give Rey one full night as champion. What an utter bell-end.
