There was never going to be a good way for the Great Khali to win a title. His entire tenure in WWE was a depressing watch, as the company trotted out a giant whose body was clearly shot for the sake of saying “look at the big man, he is a big man indeed.”

By 2007, Khali had clearly been exposed as a lumbering liability, and with two PPV jobs in a row to John SuperCena, you would think that would be it for the big lug. Unfortunately, SmackDown suddenly found itself in a jam. With new World Heavyweight Champion Edge now sidelined with injury, and Undertaker on hiatus, the Blue Brand had a huge gap in the main event picture.

With what they had available, who would they have win the title in a battle royal? Batista? Kane? Matt Hardy? Mark Henry? Kenny Freaking Dykstra?

Nope. It was Khali. For two miserable months, he was the World Heavyweight Champion, and it was dreaded from the very start. No one thought it was going to be good, and WWE were just milking any sort of main event credibility the gargantuan greenhorn had left.
