6. Lawrence Taylor And Bam Bam Bigelow - WrestleMania 11
So far on this list, the trend has been for a big star against a lame star. But at WrestleMania 11, the WWF outdid themselves and put two lame stars in the main event. On the one side, there was NFL footballer Lawrence Taylor, who wasn't even a wrestler. On the other side was Bam Bam Bigelow, a skilled big man with a great look, but he was never perceived as a headline star. He didn't win one title in the WWF. Yet Vince went with it as the show closer to the 1995 event, in an effort to garner the WWF as much publicity as possible for putting a celebrity / NFL player in a wrestling main event. Even though the match ended up okay, it was a commercial flop. To wrestling fans it was just a novelty. It doesn't stand up to the legacy of great wrestling matches that Mania is remembered for.
