Chris Jericho is a great talker and fantastic in-ring wrestler, but his legacy as a WrestleMania main eventer isn't the best. He's far better remembered for his undercard performances, particularly his WrestleMania 19 match with Shawn Michaels. A year before that, he closed the show as the main event champion heading into WrestleMania 18. However, long before arriving at the event, he was already wrote off as a lame champion. This was mostly the fault of creative, who cast him as Stephanie McMahon's lapdog. Jericho's WrestleMania main event with Triple H ended up being more about Hunter's scripted personal dramas with the billion dollar princess. Jericho just happened to be there. As for the match itself, it was very average, and was blown away by the hotness of The Rock versus Hulk Hogan in the midcard. That should have been the main event. It is unfortunate, but through a combination of bad circumstances, Jericho has to rank as one of the lamest Mania main eventers of all time.
