10 Last-Minute WWE No Mercy 2016 Rumors You Need To Know
5. John Cena Will Be Written Off TV
Unlike Dean Ambrose, John Cena is leaving soon. It's a known fact. When American Grit was renewed, Cena was going to have to miss ring time for filming, and it was October of last year when he left for season one. No Mercy will, in all likelihood, be his last major match before his sabbatical.
Still, there are so many variables that it's hard to definitively say that he'll be written off TV at the PPV. Cena's loss to AJ Styles at Summerslam saw him take off his "Never Give Up" armband and leave it in the ring, disappearing from TV for weeks. Many fans thought that that was his sign-off to go film the show, but he missed less than a month's worth of action. Would another loss to Styles be enough to keep him out through the new year?
Also, don't forget that Cena was never written off of TV last year when he went to film the show. He was beaten by the returning Alberto Del Rio at Hell in a Cell with the U.S. Title on the line, and then he was gone - that's it. There was no mention of why he wasn't there or when he would be back, he was just gone for two months. It made no sense.
All in all, writing Cena off TV at No Mercy may be a smart move, but that doesn't mean it will happen.
