10 Last-Minute WWE Payback 2017 Rumours You Need To Know
2. Rollins And Joe Deliver A Classic
There's one bout on the show that's had a good buildup, but probably wouldn't even need one. That's the contest pitting Samoa Joe against Seth Rollins, which happens to be a grudge match as well as a dream match.
Though the two crossed paths long ago, their current issues date back to the episode of Raw after the Royal Rumble. On that show, it looked like Rollins was about to get his hands on Triple H, but Samoa Joe - who was making his main roster debut - attacked Rollins, legitimately injuring his knee in the process. The injury was made part of the storyline, and Rollins very nearly missed his second consecutive WrestleMania. Rollins and Joe were originally meant to clash at Fastlane, but that plan had to be scrapped.
Now, there's nothing keeping them apart, and hopes are high for two of the best workers in the entire company to deliver a great match. Granted, it takes a lot for a classic bout to just happen (especially in WWE, where time constraints and the company-wide wrestling style are often hindrances), but short of AJ Styles, these are the guys to go to in order to see it done.
