10 Last-Minute WWE Royal Rumble 2017 Predictions

With 22 of the 30 competitors already announced ahead of time, that means we’re guaranteed to see at least some surprise appearances in this year’s Royal Rumble match.

Now, I realise that a 67-year-old Jerry Lawler isn’t necessarily the kind of marquee main eventer that you might hope to see show up at the PPV, but given his recent role with the company it may well be on the cards.

For starters, Lawler has already been confirmed as part of the announce team for the Royal Rumble match itself, so logistically it would be perfectly feasible. Plus, he was involved in a pretty major altercation with Dolph Ziggler on SmackDown just a couple of weeks ago, in which Ziggler superkicked Lawler in the chest, playing on the real-life heart attack that the latter suffered back in 2012.

Having Lawler show up for a brief cameo, in search of revenge on Ziggler, would probably yield a nice little pop and also help further establish Ziggler’s new character off the back of his recent heel turn.
