10 Last-Minute WWE Payback 2016 Rumors You Need To Know
5. The Miz Beats Cesaro
Cesaro was one of many WWE superstars who suffered an injury late last year, missing WrestleMania and ultimately hurting the event. He was able to make his return the following evening on Raw, though, and while he failed to win a match to determine the new number one contender to the WWE Title, fans were still happy to see him back.
The following week on Raw, Cesaro defeated Kevin Owens to win a shot at the Intercontinental Title, and from there, he began a feud with new champion The Miz. With a suit, sunglasses, and a superstar entrance, the company has tweaked Cesaro's image without changing what makes him great; they may have finally stumbled upon a formula for "The Swiss Superman" where they feel comfortable pushing him.
Despite all that - and the fact that Cesaro really should defeat The Miz - there are people who think that The Miz will be retaining his title. Knowing WWE's propensity for delivering a swerve to fans even when it spites themselves, I wouldn't be too shocked to see Miz cheat to keep the belt. File this one under 50/50.
