10 Least Convincing Intercontinental Champions In WWE History

4. Albert

2001 featured a lot of title changes in the World Wrestling Federation. A glut of performers in the mid card pack hadn't been helped by the acquisition of more from the likes of WCW and ECW. Suddenly, TV time was more of a precious commodity than before, making one Intercontinental Title decision even more baffling. In June, Albert beat Kane to become champion. Diamond Dallas Page interfered, hitting Kane with a dodgy-looking Diamond Cutter. One quick 'Albert Bomb' later, and Albert was Intercontinental Champion. Fans weren't enthused by what they were seeing. Up until that point, Albert had been little more than a tag-team attraction, and it was obvious that he was only being pushed due to his huge size. Kane had just defeated Triple H in a 'Chain Match' at Judgment Day, so it was confusing to see his title run be cut short so suddenly. Fast forward just 27 days, and Albert was staring at the lights for a new champion. On one edition of Raw in July, Lance Storm won the Intercontinental Title. Of course, Storm was part of the incoming WCW 'Invasion', which is why he was given the title. Thankfully, he was also a great wrestler, and a far more fitting choice as champ than Albert, who struggled to get over with fans.
