10 Least Effective WWE World Champions Ever
10. Dolph Ziggler
Poor, poor Dolph Ziggler. How different would his career have been if he hadn't been hurled into a concussion by Jack Swagger in 2013? It was almost as if that was it for Ziggler's main event chances, as if high-ranking WWE officials were desperate for a reason to keep the former cheerleader out of the main event scene and a concussion was the right thing at the right time. Ziggler will frequently be involved in number one contender matches, but those expecting another world championship run should think again.
Dolph Ziggler is a two-time World Heavyweight Champion in WWE, although you'd be forgiven for forgetting his first reign. Ziggler's first world title was handed to him by Vickie Guerrero and he had lost it before the episode of SmackDown was over, finding himself fired at the end of the night in the process.
The Showoff's second reign was almost tragic. Ziggler won the belt by cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase (you'll hear more about this case) on Alberto Del Rio to one of the biggest pops of 2013. It looked as though it may be Ziggler's time, but a concussion got in the way and Ziggles was shunted to the sidelines. He lost the belt back to Del Rio in his first defence, and the World Heavyweight Championship match found itself in the middle of the Payback 2013 card.
Ziggler has been a fantastic competitor throughout his WWE career, but he has been an entirely ineffective world champion.
