We all remember the fear we faced as children when the word 'dentist' was mentioned. It conjured up images of drills and cotton wool, of an all-too-sterile environment full of anthropomorphised teeth and toothbrushes. The dentist was the stuff of nightmares.

Which makes it all the more bemusing then that an evil wrestling dentist would be, well, so toothless. Before finding far more fear as Kane, Glenn Jacobs was Isaac Yankem D.D.S, an evil dentist brought to the World Wrestling Federation by Jerry 'The King' Lawler. Far from being an image of terror, Yankem more resembled a wacky dentist from a cartoon, merely looking silly as opposed to threatening.

The D.D.S stands for Doctor of Dental Surgery, but in this case Dentist Didn't Scare was more apt. Yep, that was the best I could do there.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
