10 Most Legendary Wrestling Commentators Of All Time

9. Michael Cole

Although Michael Cole is usually picked on for his abrasive personality, he does bring a certain credibility to the announce booth. The former war correspondent covered the ATF siege of the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas and was a legitimate journalist before joining the WWE in 1997. His rise from backstage interviewer, aka Degeneration-X's whipping boy, is pretty interesting. It's difficult to look at the Michael Cole from 97 and believe he's the same person now. Cole's slick, professional style lends itself perfectly to WWE programming, giving every match he calls a certain big fight feel. He's called numerous championship wins, complimenting them with a sense of passion and raw drive. His feud with Jerry Lawler in 2010 was equally as exciting, which only showcased how mediocre the product was at the time, where two announcers were outworking the entire roster on the microphone. Cole may have a lot of haters, but it's hard to deny his commitment and love for the business.
