10 Legendary Wrestling Records That Should Never Be Broken

5. The Dudley Boyz's 23 Tag Title Reigns

Simply put, the Dudley Boyz are the most decorated tag team in wrestling history. Their last WWE run might have ended in failure, but no other unit can match their championship pedigree. They’re the only team in history to hold the tag belts in WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA, and NJPW, and while these promotions make for a total of 23 major title reigns, the Dudleyz also have a number of smaller, regional belts to their name.

This record will likely stand the test of time, and it should. No other team even comes close to matching Bubba & D-Von’s global success, and they’ve established an unparalleled track record in most of the world’s major promotions. Having been active since 1996, with only a few minor breaks to pursue singles careers, the Dudleyz’s track record is unparalleled, and there’s no way WWE would be able to break it without passing their tag belts around like hot potatoes.

They’ve had a couple of minor break-ups, sure, but for the most part, the Dudleyz have been together since 1996. In a world where tag teams rarely last a couple of years before breaking-up, it’s highly unlikely that anyone will ever come close to bettering their legacy. That’s a good thing, as nobody is more deserving of holding such an accolade.
