10 Legendary WWE Feuds That Never Had A Payoff
8. Macho Man Vs. Razor Ramon (1992)
Macho vs. Machismo.
When Razor Ramon debuted in late 1992, he made an immediate impact by costing Randy Savage the WWE Championship just days after SummerSlam '92 by attacking Savage's injured knee, causing him to pass out in Flair's figure-four leglock and get pinned for the WWE title.
Razor was then immediately thrust into the main event alongside Ric Flair, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, and Mr. Perfect. This trifecta had been feuding with the Macho Man for nearly the entire year and had recently added the Ultimate Warrior as another target.
It was only natural to headline Survivor Series '92 with a tag team affair between the newly christened team of The Ultimate Maniacs (Warrior & Savage) and Ric Flair & Razor Ramon.
Many factors contributed to the lack of a Macho vs. Machismo blowoff including Warrior's departure, Perfect's face-turn, and Flair giving his notice, but the fact is, Savage was never given a one-on-one opportunity to exact revenge on Razor for costing him the WWE Championship.
Following the Survivor Series, Razor would move on to challenge new WWE Champion Bret Hart but was unsuccessful. He then was moved down to the mid-card and would never again reach the main event.
Not long after dropping the title, Savage was moved to a full-time colour commentator and removed from the title picture altogether. A Razor/Savage blowoff would've worked well for the '93 Royal Rumble, allowing both men the spotlight they deserved to conclude their feud.
