10 Legends Who Never Held Gold In WWE

10. Junkyard Dog

JYD was another superstar who had a brief run in the World Wrestling Federation, lasting only four years up North. In that time, however, the Junkyard Dog often elicited a ravenous response from the WWF crowd. He was a supremely over babyface who was popular with both adults and children. JYD was just an easily likeable guy with his over-the-top antics, including his fun but slightly ridiculous dancing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Wxe6wiEC9I Unfortunately, the Dog just couldn€™t seem to land a championship in the Federation -- although he never seemed too occupied with pursuing any. The WWF threw the Dog a bone, however, in November of 1985 when he won the Wrestling Classic pay-per-view tournament. JYD would triumph over the €œMacho Man€ Randy Savage in the tournament finals, albeit with a countout victory. The Junkyard Dog departed the Federation in 1988, but popped up briefly in World Championship Wrestling two years later. While in WCW, the Dog briefly feuded with Ric Flair over the World Heavyweight Championship, but he was unsuccessful even in that quest. Still, JYD was immensely popular with fans and left behind a memorable legacy despite never holding a single belt in the WWF.
