10 Legends WWE Dumped In Awful Feuds

6. Hulk Hogan & Roddy Piper (Mr. America)

Premise: WWE booked Roddy Piper against Hulk Hogan one more time in an attempt to prolong Hogan's feud with Vince McMahon. The twist was that Hulk worked under a mask as the "mysterious" Mr. America, and it was up to McMahon and Piper to expose Hogan's ruse. At Judgment Day 2003, Hogan beat Piper in less than five minutes.

Why It Was Awful: The Mr. America character was so flimsy it almost seemed like the writers had found Vince Russo's old booking notes from 2000-era WCW. On top of the ludicrous notion that nobody could prove America was Hulk, neither Piper nor Hogan had any business wrestling one another this deep into their careers.

Their match was a train wreck.

Hogan vs. McMahon should have ended when Hulk beat Vince in a spirited 'Street Fight' at WrestleMania XIX. That was acceptable. This WCW-ish protraction of issues between Hogan and Piper was not, and it's embarrassing to look back on now.
