10 Legitimate Fighters Who Competed In WWE

7. Dan Severn

Big Show vs. Floyd Mayweather - WrestleMania 24

It was a toss-up between Dan Severn and fellow MMA fighter-cum-professional wrestler Steve Blackman for this spot, but the former - as one of the founding fathers of UFC during its formative early '90s era - has to get the nod.

After training as a professional wrestler under Al Snow, Severn rocked up in Vince McMahon's WWE in 1997, joining the company during what was a relative boom period for shootfighting.

Mostly, this was because of 1998's infamous Brawl For All tournament, in which - at the behest of Vince Russo - wrestlers trained in pretend-fighting got the rare opportunity to beat each other up for real (which went about as well as could be expected).

Unfortunately, both - Severn and the aforementioned Blackman - ended up pulling out after the first round, despite winning their respective matches. The rest of his career in the ring was similarly disappointing, and he eventually packed it in 1999 after WWE asked him to get "666" tattooed on his forehead. Probably a good call.
