10 Legitimately Good Acting Performances By Pro Wrestlers In Movies

9. Andre The Giant As Fezzik (The Princess Bride)

Did you know Hulk Hogan body slammed Andre the Giant at WrestleMania 3 in the Silver Dome? Hogan would like to remind you of that at every opportunity he gets, but Andre's legacy expands beyond far beyond that historic matchup. He is one of the biggest (literally and figuratively) attractions in sports entertainment history based off his name recognition alone. Andre was such a star that he branched off into the Hollywood realm was offered roles in various movies including "The Princess Bride." Of all the films Andre was a part of, his portrayal of Fezzik in "The Princess Bride" is the most well-known, and also his personal favorite. It wasn't a blockbuster at the box office, but it received highly favorable reviews from critics and was considered one of 1987's best films. "The Princess Bride" has garnered a cult following over the last 25 years and is often associated with Andre whenever he is brought up in conversation, wrestling-related or not. "The Eighth Wonder of the World" died only a few years following the film's release, so one can only imagine how many more movies he could have done had he not passed on so soon.
