10 Legitimately Good Acting Performances By Pro Wrestlers In Movies

8. Jesse Ventura As Blain (Predator)

Jesse Ventura is a rare case of a professional wrestler achieving more success outside of the realm of wrestling than within it. Ventura spent a majority of his career in the 1970s and '80s as an in-ring competitor before retiring from the ring and becoming a commentator for WWE. He then branched off into politics and became the Govenor of Minnesota in 1999. What many may not know, however, is that Ventura has played a handful of roles in multiple movies as well. Ventura has had roles in well over a dozen films over the last 30 years, but he made his debut on the big screen in 1985's "Predator". As a character named Blain, Ventura didn't last too long in the film before being killed off by the Predator, but the part he played in the movie was memorable, nevertheless. A legitimate tough guy, Ventura fit the bill to perfection, so it came as no surprise when he was offered additional movie roles shortly thereafter. The initial reaction to "Predator" was "generally unfavorable", but it has remained relevant all these years later and has since become a cult classic among fans.
