10 Lessons WWE Can Learn From UFC

1. Pay Per View

WWE are never going back to monthly pay per view, but Dave Meltzer has suggested that there could be the consideration of making WrestleMania a one off pay per view show each year. The UFC are the perfect example as to why pay per view makes sense for big events. McGregor versus Aldo is going to do a million buys, while Rousey will follow that in August with around 500,000 buys. Those shows will retail at $60. If WWE were to offer a WrestleMania headlined by Brock Lesnar at $75, they'd conceivably do a 1.5 million buyrate and get far more financial success than the event would generate as a $9.99 WWE Network show. UFC has illustrated this year (along with Mayweather vs Pacquioa) that the pay per view industry isn't the dead dinosaur that the WWE thought it was. A return to PPV for a once a year event could be a wise move for Vince McMahon.
