Back at WrestleMania 31, there was evidence that promotional build didn't matter too much. After all, the build for that show was terrible, but on the night it ended up being heralded as an all time great 'Mania.

But this year, it prove that 'Mania 31 was sheer luck. The terrible build for 'Mania 32 undoubtedly had a negative impact on the night of April 3. Fans had largely made up their mind that they were going to hate on the main event no matter how good it was, because the build going in had just been so woefully uninspiring.

Shane McMahon versus The Undertaker was another example of build undermining the match. The story was so underdeveloped, meaning it was hard to emotionally invest in the match.

Up and down the card, there was that same feeling. WWE hadn't gave enough reasons to care. They must put more effort in when they build WrestleMania 33.
